Palos Verdes

Rancho Palos Verdes is a city atop the Palos Verdes hills and bluffs on a peninsula, which means that three sides of Palos verdes all have expansive views of the Pacific ocean and Catalina Island beyond. A suburb of Los Angeles, it is known for homes amidst large tracts of open space with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. The history of Rancho Palos Verdes dates back to the Tongva Indians, who inhabited the site before the Age of Discovery. If you’re looking to spot a whale this is the perfect place! Check out The Point Vicente Interpretive Center which is a premier whale-watching venue. And if you need lodging or even just a refreshment go to Terranea, a stunning seaside resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. Ocean access is free to all at Terranea and walking trails abound. If you’re into hiking, one of the best hikes in PV is on Paseo Del Mar in Palos Verdes Estates, just up the road from the Neighborhood Church. At the Cove, park the car and walk down the hill to the rocky coast, where you can watch the waves crash and enjoy the view from another side of the world and maybe even spot a whale!
