Red, White and Bluetiful

Summer starts with Memorial Day, ends with Labor Day, and features the firework-bursting fourth of July as its centerpiece. It’s the season to let your patriotic flag fly, its warm weather and barbecues ushering in good old-fashioned American celebrating. Because of its holiday-studded mood, summer and specifically 4th of July decor has also become synonymous with the red, white, and blue palette. From the flag-printed paper plates found at party supply stores to firecracker popsicles, these three colors bring pride, nostalgia, and warmth to any space. They’re a true classic, which is why we wanted to highlight stylish fourth of July entertaining ideas without getting that party supply store feel. Why not skip the flag plates and indulge in doses of red, white, and blue for your home that are perfectly on theme for any July 4th revelry, yet remain chic long after the last sparkler has fizzled? Below are some photos that show that this patriotic color combo and modern eclectic style which doesn't have to be just for the 4th of July design!

JAC loves summertime for all its color outdoors and in, but particularly at the 4th of July. The old tried and true combo of red white and blue have us wanting to design for this national holiday all year long. It can be the chicest of all color combos, bold and blue (plus small doses of red and white) is a good idea anytime of year! Try it lacquered on your walls for maximum impact or use these colors as pop along with healthy doses of white to keep your space feeling bright and cheery.

Below is a JAC designed beach house we created in Venice Beach just steps from the coastline. Red, white and blue is patriotic but decidedly takes on a coastal chic style when beachside. It's the chameleon of all color palettes that screams summertime!
