Interior Designer Westwood

Interior Design in Westwood, Los Angeles

Westwood occupies a rare position in the LA landscape — it borders Beverly Hills to the east, Brentwood to the west, and Bel-Air to the north, yet maintains its own distinct character. The homes here tend to be well-built, architecturally coherent, and owned by people who have thought carefully about how they want to live. That makes it a neighborhood we genuinely enjoy working in.

JAC Interiors brings full-service design to Westwood homes, from pre-war Spanish Colonials in Little Holmby to contemporary condominiums near Westwood Village. Our approach is calibrated to the neighborhood's sensibility: refined without being cold, luxurious without announcing itself.

The Westwood Aesthetic

Westwood interiors tend toward the quietly excellent. This isn't a neighborhood that announces itself — the homes are well-built and architecturally serious, and the clients who hire us here generally want design that holds up over time rather than chasing what's current. That translates to a material palette heavy on natural stone, quality millwork, and furniture chosen for longevity as much as looks.

The light here is generous — further from the coast than Brentwood or Santa Monica but with the same Southern California clarity. Rooms are typically well-proportioned, which gives us room to work: layering textiles, art, and custom lighting without the space feeling crowded. We tend to work with warm neutrals and deep anchors rather than the sun-washed palettes that work further west.

Architecture & Character

Westwood's residential stock is architecturally varied in a way that rewards attention. Little Holmby — the neighborhood's quietest, most coveted pocket — is lined with English Tudor, French Norman, and Spanish Colonial homes built in the 1920s and 1930s, many with original details still intact. Further south toward Wilshire, you'll find post-war traditional homes and mid-century buildings that have aged gracefully and are now being updated by a new generation of owners.

Whether we're working within original plasterwork and hardwood floors or modernizing a 1960s ranch for contemporary living, our team approaches each project by understanding what the architecture wants to be — then helping it get there.

Designing in Westwood

Proximity to the Best LA Showrooms

Westwood's central Westside location puts it within minutes of the La Cienega Design Quarter, Beverly Drive showrooms, and Melrose trade resources. For our clients, this means faster sourcing decisions, easier site visits, and access to the full range of LA's best design trade vendors — all without the lead times that come with shipping from further afield.

Scaled for Family Living

Many Westwood homes are primary residences for families with children — not pied-à-terres or investment properties. We design spaces that are genuinely livable: durable upholstery, thoughtful storage, rooms that can grow with changing needs. Beauty and practicality aren't opposites in our work — they're the same requirement.

Discretion and Process

Our clients in this neighborhood typically have full professional lives. They don't want to be managing a design project on top of everything else — they want to hand it off with confidence and see the result. We build our process around that: clear milestones, proactive communication, and a finished home that arrives on time.
