Laguna Beach interiors reward restraint and materiality—natural textures, layered light, and a palette that works with the landscape rather than against it.

Interior Design in Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a genuinely unusual place to design—an artist colony that has managed to hold onto its creative identity despite being one of the most desirable coastal addresses in Southern California. The town's design culture has always valued craft, originality, and a sensitivity to the natural environment that you don't find in every beachside community.

Homes here sit on the bluffs above the Pacific, tucked into Laguna's characteristic canyons, or on the narrow hillside streets above the village. The architecture spans Spanish Colonial to mid-century modern to contemporary custom, and the light—filtered through ocean haze in the morning, direct and golden in the afternoon—is a constant design consideration.

The Aesthetic

Laguna Beach interiors tend toward the relaxed and the considered rather than the formal. The proximity to nature—ocean, hills, canyon—means clients here want to feel connected to the outside even when they're in. We work with natural stone, linen, reclaimed wood, and handmade ceramics; with color palettes that reference the local landscape—sandy neutrals, sage, dusty blue—rather than fighting it.

The artist community in Laguna also shapes the design sensibility here. Clients are generally more willing to take a position, to live with something genuinely original, and to trust that a well-chosen piece of art can anchor a whole room. We appreciate that confidence in design.

Home Types We Design For

Clifftop homes with ocean views demand a particular approach—maximizing the outlook without turning the interior into a fishbowl, managing solar exposure, and choosing materials that survive the marine environment. Canyon homes are quieter and more sheltered; the design opportunity there is about creating warmth and enclosure while staying connected to the trees and natural light. Village homes and the charming older bungalows near Heisler Park reward more intimate, layered interiors.

Whatever the site, we begin by understanding how the space sits in its setting—then build inward from there.

Our Process

We offer full-service interior design from initial space planning through procurement and installation. We handle finish selections, furnishing sourcing, contractor coordination, and final styling—so you can focus on how the space feels when it's done rather than managing every decision along the way.
