Mar Vista homes have good bones—open light, generous yards, and floor plans that respond well to thoughtful, restrained updating.

Interior Design in Mar Vista

Mar Vista sits between Culver City and the beach communities—Westside LA through and through, with a slightly quieter, more residential character than Venice or Santa Monica. The neighborhood is full of postwar bungalows and mid-century ranch homes that have been gradually upgraded by creative professionals and young families who saw the potential in the bones before the prices fully caught up with the location.

It's a neighborhood we enjoy working in. The homes are honest architecturally—no pretension—and clients here tend to want design that improves how they actually live rather than design for appearances.

The Mar Vista Aesthetic

Mar Vista interiors tend toward the California modern—clean, open, and warm without being cold. Natural materials (white oak, linen, concrete) pair well with the mid- century architecture, and the generous natural light in most of these homes rewards a restrained palette that lets the light do the work. Clients here are generally interested in quality over flash: well-made furniture, considered finishes, and spaces that hold up over time.

Being steps from Abbot Kinney and the Westside's design resources means access is easy—we take clients through showrooms and vendors that suit the project and the budget without making it feel like a field trip.

What We Design Here

Mar Vista projects often involve updating an older home without erasing its character—removing a wall to open the kitchen to the living area, replacing builder-grade bathrooms, adding custom storage that makes a smaller bedroom feel considered. We also work on full remodels when the project scope warrants it: kitchen redesigns, primary suite overhauls, and ADU conversions are all common in this part of LA.

We work on furnishing-only projects too—clients who have completed construction and need a designer to pull together a space that feels like it belongs together.

Our Process

We start by understanding the project—its scope, its constraints, and how you use the space. From there we build a plan covering layout, finish selections, furnishing, and full installation coordination. We handle the vendors, the deliveries, and the details so the end result feels exactly right.
