Studio City homes tend to have good bones and real character—the work is to honor what's already there while bringing the quality and finish that the neighborhood rewards.

Studio City

Interior Design in Studio City

Studio City sits just over the Cahuenga Pass from Hollywood, in the southern San Fernando Valley where the hills meet the flatlands and the streets are wide and shaded. It's long been home to entertainment industry professionals—writers, directors, producers—who want proximity to the studios without living in the thick of it. The result is a neighborhood with real personality: a mix of 1940s and 50s ranch homes, Spanish bungalows, and newer custom builds on larger lots north of Ventura Boulevard.

At JAC Interiors, we've worked on homes throughout the Valley and have a feel for what the neighborhood rewards: comfort, quality, and a design that feels considered rather than assembled.

The Studio City Aesthetic

Studio City interiors tend toward the warm and livable—not the cold minimalism of some Westside neighborhoods, and not the flashiness of parts of Beverly Hills. Clients here are often creative professionals who have clear taste and know what they want; they've lived in well-designed spaces and can spot the difference between something genuinely considered and something that just looks expensive.

We lean into natural materials, layered lighting, and furniture that holds up over time. A well-designed Studio City home should feel immediately comfortable—lived in by someone with discernment rather than staged for a magazine.

Ranch Homes & Renovation Projects

The original ranch homes north of Ventura are the backbone of Studio City residential design. Many have been partially updated over the decades in ways that don't quite cohere—a remodeled kitchen that doesn't match the bathrooms, a master suite that feels like it belongs to a different house. Our work often involves bringing a home into alignment: consistent finishes, a unified material palette, and furnishing selections that pull the whole thing together.

Newer custom builds and larger renovation projects are also common in Studio City. These give us more room to shape the full interior from the start—a cleaner project in some ways, but one that demands more from the design.

Our Process

We start by understanding the project's scope and what you want the space to feel like when it's done. From there, full space planning, finish selections, furnishing procurement, and installation coordination—handled start to finish so the result reflects a coherent vision rather than a series of disconnected decisions.
