Generous floor plans, mature landscaping, and homes that reward careful, considered design—Woodland Hills is a great place to do good interior work.

Interior Design in Woodland Hills

Woodland Hills sits at the western end of the San Fernando Valley, where the hills start and the streetscape opens up. Homes here range from 1960s ranch-style properties to more recent custom builds with expansive floor plans, mature landscaping, and views over the valley or toward the Santa Monica Mountains. The neighborhood has a spacious, unhurried quality that makes it well-suited to design projects that prioritize how a space actually feels to live in.

What Drives the Aesthetic

Woodland Hills clients tend to want warmth, texture, and a finished quality that reads as high-end without being flashy. We see a lot of interest in organic materials—white oak, travertine, natural linen—and in spaces that feel calm and organized. The scale of homes in this part of the Valley gives us room to work: generous primary suites, dedicated home offices, and outdoor spaces with room for real furnishing rather than just a table and chairs.

Ranch Homes & Custom Builds

The original ranch-style homes of Woodland Hills often have mid-century bones—low rooflines, open kitchen-to-family room layouts, interior patios, and large glass doors to the backyard. We work to update these without erasing what makes them architecturally distinctive. The goal is a home that feels current and comfortable without having lost its character.

Newer custom builds offer more flexibility from the start. Here our focus is on materiality and how choices in each room connect across the full home to create something cohesive rather than a series of separate decisions.

Valley Resources

Ventura Boulevard is a resource in itself—furniture shops, lighting showrooms, antique dealers, and specialty vendors that serve the Valley's design community. We also source through trade resources in nearby Sherman Oaks and Encino, and take clients to the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood when the project calls for that level of selection and access.
