Our studio is based here, in the Helms Design District—so when we work on a Culver City project, we're close to the homes, the showrooms, and the contractors we trust.

Culver City

Interior Design in Culver City

Culver City has redefined itself steadily over the past decade—from its mid-century roots in film and light manufacturing to one of the more interesting creative neighborhoods on the Westside. Downtown Culver City now draws a restaurant and retail scene that rivals its neighbors, and the Helms Design District—where JAC Interiors is based, above the HD Buttercup showroom—remains one of the best concentrations of design resources in the city.

We work on homes across the full range here: older single-family houses in Carlson Park and Park Hills Heights, modern condos near The Platform and Downtown, and creative spaces in the neighborhood’s pockets of post-industrial conversion.

The Culver City Aesthetic

Culver City clients tend to have visual literacy—they live near design resources and can tell the difference between something considered and something generic. The aesthetic here leans California modern with a creative edge: warm materials but clean lines, layered rather than sparse, with room for collected objects and furniture that holds its value over time.

Being based in the Helms District keeps procurement efficient. We pull from HD Buttercup, the broader La Cienega corridor, and local vendors who know the neighborhood’s sensibility—without making the process feel like a design safari every time a client needs a sofa.

A Neighborhood We Know Well

Culver City has traditionally been a film and production town, but there’s far more to it than Sony Studios and the entertainment industry. It sits between Mar Vista to the north and Venice and Playa Vista to the west—a genuinely walkable position on the Westside with easy access to everything the area offers.

Because our JAC offices are in the Helms Design District, we’re embedded in the neighborhood in a way most firms aren’t. We know the contractors who work here, the building quirks of the older housing stock, and the sourcing options that are actually close. That proximity makes a difference in how smoothly a project runs.

Our Process

We start by understanding the scope—what you want from the space, what construction is involved, and what timeline you’re working toward. From there: full space planning, finish and material specifications, furnishing procurement, and installation coordination handled start to finish.

Working in Culver City means we’re nearby for site visits, vendor trips, and any mid-project decisions that need a fast answer. See our work: JAC Interiors Portfolio. Explore Westside cities: Cities We Serve.
