Interior Design for Westlake Village Homes

Westlake Village is a master-planned community built around a lake, set among oak-covered hills at the western edge of Los Angeles County and bordering Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills. It feels quieter and greener than most of LA, with winding streets, mature trees, golf courses, and a mix of lakeside, hillside, and gated neighborhoods.

The Westlake Village Aesthetic

Much of the housing stock was built in the decades after the community was planned, and it shows: Mediterranean and traditional exteriors, generous floor plans, high ceilings, and formal rooms that no longer match how people live. A common brief is to keep the architecture's scale and warmth while updating everything inside it, with lighter finishes, simpler lines, and open, connected living spaces.

The setting does a lot of the work. Oak trees, hillside views, and lake or golf-course frontage make indoor-outdoor living a priority, so we pay close attention to how rooms open to terraces, pools, and gardens, and how natural light moves through the house over the day.

Renovating Established Homes

Many of our Westlake Village conversations start with a home that is well built but dated. Kitchens with heavy cabinetry, closed-off floor plans, and tired primary bathrooms are typical. We approach these as design problems first: rethinking layout and flow, then specifying the finishes, lighting, and custom millwork that make the result feel considered rather than merely new.

For larger projects we coordinate with architects and contractors throughout, so the design intent survives the build.
