This massive remodel first started as a spanish revival from the 1920’s in the Santa Monica Flats. We gutted the entire interior of this home but kept the mediterranean integrity with the intention to modernize but stay true to the period elements we loved. The original leaded pane window in the front living room was kept as were the handsome original Pewabic tiles around the fireplace, both of which set the color tones for the home. We worked hard to bring the outdoors inside in terms of texture and color, and to add to the original artisan touches so that the result feels fresh but with a nod to it's history, charm and location. We are especially proud of the master bath renovation, complete with under floor heating, a stunning bespoke shower and sculpture stand alone tub with a custom black Onyx and Carrara marble floor that set the modern tone. This young family embraced the ideas of adding interesting lighting pieces and wall treatments and organic materials throughout to whack up the wow factor and bring the space alive, all to good effect.
