Lighting Trends We Love

The one thing every space in your home (both inside and out) has in common is a need for lighting. Whether for function, style, mood or any combination of the three, lighting is one of the most important elements of a room. Whether it's task lighting or general lighting it's all a necessity, especially going into the fall and winter months. At JAC Interiors, we love layering different types of lighting to strike just the right balance for practically any mood, anywhere in your space.

As with most things there are a variety of fixture options with different metals, finishes, shapes and sizes – so many, in fact, that it can be daunting to find the perfect punch for your boho chic dining room, over-sized kitchen island or master bedroom retreat. Let’s take a look at some of the latest trends as well as a few inspirational spaces that are full of lighting mojo!

Geometric shapes in lighting are definitely on trend. We used to just have square and round but now there is hexagonal and triangle and oval and everything in between. By using clean yet bold lighting fixtures, the modern and direct feel of industrial design can be incorporated without making a space too cold or rigid and still be up to the minute and classic all at once.

Of course we are loving all things textured and organic and have seen a real uptick for more natural elements within the home. Searches for greenery, indoor plants, and even artificial plants are way up over even a year ago, as this bohemian chic trend is not going away any time soon and we couldn't be happier! Much of this is in response to colder designs that don't bring much life into the home. Lighting fixtures have also embraced this trend with natural elements. Woven lampshades can help to bring an element of warmth to a room in a creative way and there are so many options to choose from.
